We are located in North Eastern Alberta. About three hours away from the capital, Edmonton. We have 15 acres, but we are sharing land with our neighbors who have 150 acres. We have got a partnership with them from this rescue. We have 4 horses left to go out for adoption, please look at "Available Horses" for more information. We are going to continue rescuing horses after we are done this, but we are probably going to take a break. Let these guys who we are keeping settle in and get some training.
Where it all began....
There was a group of mares off in the field beside ours. There were many that were shy and didn't want anything to do with us, but there were a few that stuck out and wanted more than anything to be with us.Then we found out, after several months of playing with them, that they were going to the slaughter house. And after scrambling around, trying to get help, finding the money, and with the help of the guy who owned them. We bought them. It was one of the best, and hardest, day of my life. But, after four hours, we got them from one field to the next. It took a couple days for them to settle down with us, but after that they all started to come around. A special thanks to Elaine, who thought up the whole idea of sponsoring. If it were not for her, then these horses could not have been saved! Thank you!!
